Our Services

Part Task Trainers, also known as Skills Trainers, are units designed for education of a specific practical task. These trainers allow for repeated practise of individual skills while developing confidence and competency via skills retention and improved muscle memory.

A major benefit of these task trainers is that they allow instructors to validate, or assess competency, in a skill prior to allowing students to perform said skill on a real person. This allows trainees to practise in a safe environment, ensuring that their first encounter with real patients is when they are at higher levels of technical and clinical proficiency.

Whilst numerous task trainers have been developed to meet many specific medical training needs, our products focus on haemorrhage control, haemostatic dressing, tourniquet application and suturing – all which support vital first aid training plus tactical combat casualty care (TCCC), medic and paramedic programs around the world.

Our task trainers are latex-free, made from medical grade quality silicone with a life-like look and feel, are available in 11 different skin colours (with customisation options) and are available in various body parts (arm, leg, thigh, torso) with varying wounds and injuries such as lacerations, gunshot wounds or amputation. For the wounds and injuries that require bleeding, these simulate blood flow from the designated area which is stopped when the student applies the correct tourniquet or wound packing techniques.

Students and professionals alike are seeking advancements in simulated learning to meet the growing need across the world to achieve higher competencies in emergency, first aid, medical and healthcare training. TraumaSim have the drive and capability to provide solutions, via products and/or services, that achieve realism in simulation, promote skills retention and improve overall goals and outcomes.

Offering bespoke scenarios and solutions, our team will work with experts in your industry and field to develop specific medically accurate trauma wounds and injuries, and create an unforgettable learning environment directly relevant to your staff, students and workplace risks.

The realism experienced within this simulated emergency scenario provides hands-on training in a safe environment yet still evokes a sense of urgency and aims to better prepare responders for action in a real life emergency situation.

The TraumaSim team can create a complete hands-on training environment through single or multiple casualty scenarios and combine realistic trauma wounds and injuries, applied to manikins or live role players via moulage, with other props and consumables such as blood, broken glass and simulated odours to create the realistic scene required.  Previous scenes achieved include, but are not limited to;

  • Plane, Train and Automobile accidents
  • Industrial Accidents
  • Bushfire and natural disaster injuries
  • Terrorist Attacks
  • Military injuries

Research has proven that realism within simulation and training significantly improves student retention, improving mental preparedness and the response to major trauma events, enabling the first responder to act quickly and save lives! This improved response significantly increases the chances of survival whilst greatly reducing the effects of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) on attending personnel.

Moulage, French for casting or molding, is the art of applying mock injuries for the purpose of training emergency response teams and other medical and military personnel. The application of moulage in a scenario dramatically increases the realism required to overcome the initial shock factor when responding to a real-life emergency situation.

The highly experienced TraumaSim team have been delivering moulage services and workshops to a variety of military, medical and emergency response personnel around the world since 2008.

Having trained internationally in Advanced Moulage and Disaster Exercise Design in the United States, we are confident our skills and abilities are leading the industry globally, resulting in only the most advanced knowledge, techniques, materials and tools being applied in our services and training workshops.

Our moulage services can be engaged to apply medically accurate wounds and injuries to your own manikins or role players, creating a realistic scenario to support your training outcomes. Alternatively, we offer engaging and informative hands-on workshops where we teach you, or your team, to turn a manikin or live role player into a realistic casualty.

Whilst moulage provides a solution to a serious matter, our workshops are conducted in a fun and friendly environment which allows students to repeat and practice the application techniques in a safe and controlled matter, and are also a great team building exercise.

The above services and workshops are offered globally with the additional convenience of bringing everything to you! Whether it’s a basic or advanced course, we will work with you to facilitate training onsite at your premises, promising a smooth and efficient training session that meets your required outcomes.

Our courses are offered in skill levels ranging from basic to advanced, and can be tailored to suit your specific needs.

To assist with adding realism to your moulage, we offer numerous silicone wounds made from high quality, durable materials with medically accurate detailing. The tapered edges assist with application and blending, creating a seamless look on your talent. These wounds can be washed with warm soapy water and reused many times. See more here: All Wounds
