The Lifecast Male Upper Torso with Sucking Wounds by TraumaSim is a high-fidelity training aid designed to support the demonstration and practice of managing critical chest trauma, including open pneumothorax (sucking chest wounds). Developed for realistic, scenario-based training, this unit enables learners to build competence in life-saving chest seal application and trauma management under guided instruction.

Featuring two anatomically positioned chest wounds with independent blood and air delivery systems, this trainer allows instructors to simulate realistic sucking chest injuries with visual and tactile feedback.

Advanced Chest Trauma Training for Sucking Chest Wounds

This training aid is designed for use in first aid, pre-hospital, emergency response, and tactical training environments. Learners can practise identifying and managing life-threatening chest injuries, including the application of chest seals, using realistic visual cues and simulated breathing effects.

Each wound is connected to a syringe and hand pump system, allowing the trainer to control both bleeding and airflow. By compressing the syringe and pumping the air bulb, the unit simulates bubbling at the wound site, replicating the effect of air movement during respiration in an open chest injury.

TraumaSim recommends using Ben Nye Stage Blood diluted at a ratio of 1 part blood to 3 parts water for optimal performance.
