Advanced Wound Packing Training

Uncontrolled bleeding can lead to life-threatening outcomes if not managed rapidly and effectively. Wound packing is a critical skill that must be practised repeatedly to develop correct technique, pressure application, and decision-making under stress.

The Trainer’s Pack for Wound Packing 2 allows trainees to practise these skills in a controlled training environment, while introducing more realistic anatomical positioning and arterial-style bleeding simulation.

Realistic Arterial Bleeding Simulation

The Haemostatic Clotting Trainer Rounded is designed to reflect the curvature of the arm or thigh, enhancing realism during training. The unit is available in laceration, gunshot, or large packing wound configurations.

Bleeding is controlled via a 500ml squeezy bottle, allowing instructors to simulate arterial flow by pulsing the bottle during training. This creates variable blood flow that challenges trainees to apply effective wound packing techniques under pressure.

For optimal performance, TraumaSim recommends using Ben Nye Stage Blood diluted at a ratio of 1 part blood to 3 parts water.
