The Open Fracture Silicone Wound by TraumaSim is a high-fidelity, self-adhesive training aid designed to replicate a medically accurate open fracture wound for trauma, emergency response, clinical, first aid, and casualty simulation training.

Manufactured from durable, life-like silicone with a hard bone component for enhanced realism, this wound supports realistic assessment and management of exposed fracture presentations. The hard bone detail helps learners recognise the severity of the injury while practising wound protection, dressing application, fracture management, immobilisation, and patient care in a safe and repeatable environment.

Tapered edges assist with seamless blending onto a manikin or live role player, maintaining anatomical realism throughout simulation exercises.

Open Fracture Simulation for Advanced Trauma Training

This silicone wound is ideal for scenarios involving falls, crush injuries, vehicle accidents, machinery incidents, workplace trauma, sporting injuries, and emergency response training. Learners can practise wound assessment, bleeding recognition, dressing application, fracture stabilisation, immobilisation, pain response, escalation, and coordinated team management under simulated trauma conditions.

This wound is also offered in selected TraumaSim trauma kits, including the Silicone Trauma Wound Kit and the Advanced Trauma Moulage Kit, supporting broader trauma scenario development and moulage training.

To further enhance realism, the wound can be complemented with moulage materials such as Fresh Scab, Stage Blood, and professional makeup products. Clothing may be cut, torn, burned, or manipulated to reflect the mechanism of injury and increase immersion.

All TraumaSim silicone wounds are self-adhesive, washable, and reusable, supporting repeated use in high-volume training environments. Available individually or as part of selected trauma kits.
