The Haemostatic Clotting Trainer – Thigh by TraumaSim is part of the advanced haemorrhage control training range, designed to support the development of essential wound packing and haemostatic dressing application skills for life-threatening junctional bleeding.

These critical and confronting skills can be practised in a controlled training environment, allowing learners to build confidence and competence under appropriate instruction.

Junctional Haemorrhage Training for Femoral Wounds

The HCT Thigh is specifically designed to simulate a large junctional arterial wound located high on the leg, where tourniquet application is not effective. This enables realistic training in managing femoral haemorrhage through wound packing and direct pressure techniques.

The large femoral wound features an instructor-controlled blood delivery system via a 50ml syringe. By varying pressure on the syringe, trainers can simulate different bleeding intensities to challenge learners and reinforce correct technique.

TraumaSim recommends using Ben Nye Stage Blood diluted at a ratio of 1 part blood to 3 parts water for optimal performance.
