Description

The Haemorrhage Control Simulator Lifecast Arm by TraumaSim is a high-fidelity bleeding control training system designed to support advanced haemorrhage management training. This lifecast silicone arm simulator features two independent bleeding wounds, allowing learners to practise both wound packing and tourniquet application within realistic trauma scenarios.

The simulator replicates a full human arm and includes a junctional wound located near the axilla (armpit) as well as a laceration across the radial artery. Each wound is designed to simulate arterial bleeding and will only stop when correct haemorrhage control techniques are applied, providing immediate training feedback.

Advanced Haemorrhage Control Training

Uncontrolled arterial bleeding can lead to death within minutes if not managed rapidly and effectively. Applying tourniquets correctly and performing effective wound packing are critical life-saving skills that must be practised repeatedly to build confidence and muscle memory.

The Haemorrhage Control Simulator Lifecast Arm allows trainees to develop these skills in a controlled training environment while experiencing realistic bleeding response and resistance. It is particularly effective for advanced haemorrhage control programs, including emergency response, tactical medicine, and Stop The Bleed style training initiatives.

Each wound can bleed independently, allowing instructors to control training scenarios and simulate multiple casualty situations.

Realistic Bleeding Simulation

The simulator can be used as a wet or dry training aid. For maximum realism, TraumaSim recommends operating the bleeding system during training exercises.

Using the included 5-litre manual pressure pump and diluted simulated blood, instructors can generate arterial flow through the arm. When trainees apply the correct haemorrhage control technique, the bleeding will stop, reinforcing correct application and decision making.

Flow to each wound is controlled via individual taps attached to the tubing, allowing instructors to manage bleeding scenarios throughout training sessions.
