The Haemorrhage Control Simulator – Junctional from TraumaSim is a robust, clinically informed training aid designed to teach, practise and reinforce the lifesaving skills required to control the most dangerous external haemorrhages – junctional bleeding. These wounds cannot be controlled with standard tourniquets alone, making them some of the most challenging and time-critical injuries responders will ever face.

Arterial bleeding can cause death in as little as 3 minutes. Without immediate, decisive intervention, a life can be lost before advanced care arrives. The Haemorrhage Control Simulator – Junctional provides a highly realistic, reactive platform for learners to safely practise tourniquet application, junctional wound packing, haemostatic dressing use and stump care in a controlled environment that builds muscle memory and confidence under pressure.

This advanced trainer features three individual bleeding wounds, enabling group training or multi-sequence drills where several lifesaving actions must be performed simultaneously. Learners must apply correct technique and direct, sustained pressure to successfully control the bleeding — creating a true-to-life training experience that demonstrates the importance of skill accuracy.

The unit can be used as a wet or dry simulator, but TraumaSim strongly recommends training with the active bleeding function for maximum realism. When connected to the 5-litre manual pressure pump and filled with water and red food dye, the simulator delivers a consistent, reactive flow that replicates real haemorrhage behaviour.

By pumping the hand pump approximately five times, instructors can generate accurate arterial pressure, ensuring trainees fully experience the physical strength, technique and precision required to control severe bleeding. The result is a highly repeatable, incredibly immersive training experience that prepares responders to react decisively and effectively in real emergencies.
