The Electrical Burn Set by TraumaSim provides highly realistic, medically informed electrical burn wounds designed to support accurate and effective simulation training. Because electrical injuries often show minimal surface damage yet cause significant internal harm, realistic training tools are essential. This set gives learners the opportunity to recognise both electrical entry and exit wounds, which are critical indicators during assessment and early intervention.

TraumaSim developed the Electrical Burn Set with guidance from Professor Fiona Wood AO, ensuring each wound reflects the clinical appearance and patterning associated with electrical burn trauma. As a result, trainees can practise identifying subtle yet high-risk burn characteristics in a safe and controlled learning environment.

Why Training for Electrical Burns Matters

Electrical burn injuries differ greatly from fire or contact burns. While the external wound may seem small, the internal damage can be extensive. Therefore, responders must learn to identify electrical entry and exit points, anticipate hidden tissue damage and escalate treatment immediately. The Electrical Burn Set allows educators to demonstrate these unique injury patterns and helps learners develop accurate clinical judgement early in their training.

Additional Details

All silicone wounds are hand painted, so minor variation in their appearance should be expected. Various skin tones are available; commonly used tones are kept in stock, while others are made to order. Manikin not included; wounds shown on a manikin for demonstration only.
