The TraumaSim Haemostatic Clotting Trainer – Combat Trauma Thigh is a high-fidelity haemorrhage control task trainer designed to replicate severe blast-related thigh trauma encountered in modern combat environments. This combat trauma thigh trainer allows trainees to practise critical bleeding control techniques in a controlled yet realistic setting.

Developed in response to operational feedback from current global conflict zones, including injury profiles reported during the Ukraine conflict, this trainer reflects complex open thigh wounds involving significant arterial and vascular bleeding. TraumaSim has worked closely with active military personnel to ensure the injury presentation aligns with contemporary treatment priorities and tactical medical doctrine.

The unit simulates a traumatic blast injury with extensive soft tissue disruption and a fractured femur component, increasing realism and decision-making complexity. Active bleeding is controlled via a 3-litre hand pressure pump, allowing instructors to regulate flow and create variable training intensity. TraumaSim recommends diluting Ben Nye Stage Blood at a ratio of 1 part blood to 3 parts water to simulate realistic bleeding.
